How to Adjust BHRT?

Bioidentical hormones, also referred to as natural hormones, are used to treat menopause, perimenopause, and post-menopause symptoms. These hormones are much like the hormones that are produced in the body. They are metabolized, stored, and converted into other hormones naturally. The primary advantage of BHRT is that treatment doses are individualized.

Most bioidentical hormones are chemically-synthesized from diosgenin, a cholesterol-like molecule found in plants and then altered to be identical in molecular structure to the bodys natural hormones. They are available as a cream, oral, suppository or injections.

For most women, if they have been on BHRT for a lengthy period of time, or just began treatment, the dosage may have to be adjusted because womens bodies and hormone levels are prone to changes.

Symptoms that may indicate that your BHRT may require adjustment include hot flashes night sweat, insomnia, vaginal dryness, reduced sex drive, yeast infections, and painful intercourse. As well, there have been incidents of heart palpitations and dry skin and hair. If ones estrogen level is too high, symptoms can include a desire to eat sweet foods and there will be an increase in weight. There can also be such symptoms as water retention, swelling and tenderness of the breasts, as well as anxiety related symptoms. If ones progesterone levels are too low, symptoms can include: weight gain, depression, mood changes, migraines, anxiety, acne, joint pain, and a low sex drive. As well, there can be drowsiness, bloating, and yeast infections. The individual symptoms are associated with either low or high progesterone and estrogen levels. Your doctor will have you tested to find out what hormone level that is lacking, or in surplus.

Testosterone is another hormone within BHTH treatment that may require adjustment. Low testosterone levels can result in fatigue, low sex drive, muscle weakness, heart palpitations, bone loss, fibromyalgia, bladder leakage, vaginal dryness, as well as some memory difficulties. Too high testosterone levels can cause acne, insomnia, irritability, loss of scalp hair, facial hair growth, and mood swings.

The symptoms will be reversed once the appropriate hormone levels have been adjusted. The main value of hormone replacement therapy is that it can be adapted to fit your own individual hormone needs. Because everyone is unique, they require an individualized hormone replacement therapy customized to meet their individual hormonal needs. As well, eating healthy foods and exercising regularly are important aspects of successful bio-identical hormone treatment. If a womans hormones are out of balance, her body will not effectively respond to better nutrition and exercise. As your hormones level off, one will begin to feel much better and will have improved energy, spirit, and thought processes.

Bioidentical hormones are considered one of the most effective treatments for menopausal symptoms. Many women look to bioidentical hormone replacement therapy to relieve their symptoms. Research has shown that menopausal treatment with BHRT reveals important distinctions between bioidentical and non-bioidentical hormones and replacing lost hormones because of menopause drastically relieves menopausal symptoms and improves and enhances ones quality of life.

Why Joe Crede Must Win the Gold Glove

Joe Crede has been magnificent at third base for the Twins in 2009. Not only is his fielding percentage the best in the AL, but he also has the least errors at the position. In addition to this, there’s a stat called the UZR, which measures a player’s effectiveness at a position relative to how many runs it costs his team. Crede’s UZR here is best of breed.

Crede is a very valuable Minnesota Twin offensively. Relative to where he hits in the order, his numbers are solid to the point where any team would be happy to have such numbers later in the lineup. His fielding has been better though.

As far as the UZR is concerned, there’s a more telling stat called the UZR 150. This essentially tells you how many runs a player has either saved or cost his team over the course of his last 150 games played at that position. Crede’s UZR is unbelievable, somewhere between 25 and 30. This means he’s saving the team a run once every 5 or 6 games. No one else comes close to this defensively in the AL, only Adrian Beltre, whose UZR is 10 less, between 15 and 20.

It’d seem that Joe Crede should be a shoe-in for the Gold Glove at 3B. All of his stats beat out the competition. Somehow, no one really seems to know what he’s accomplished at the position.

In conclusion, Crede has benefited this team in so many ways. Crede has provided power in 14 HR to the middle-bottom of the order…Crede has the highest fielding percentage in the american league (.985) with only 3 errors committed. Crede ranks at the top of all third baseman in UZR and UZR/150 saving an average of 25-30 runs.

There’s no question that Crede should win the gold glove at third base this season, in my opinion. Looking at the stats, he dominates his competition in UZR, fielding percentage, and errors. I don’t see why he wouldn’t.

The Twins seemed to get snubbed for these awards every year. Save for Morneau’s recent MVP award, there have been quite a few worthy fielders in recent years who haven’t won the award. Castillo, Morneau, and Mauer, to name a few.

The voters for the award are far from objective, and this unfortunately shows. With a small market team like Minnesota, it’s hard to get the “pull” that the bigger cities have.

H2OOOOOOoh … And Weight Loss!

It may not come as a surprise to you that water is good for your health. And it’s been widely publicized that drinking water can help people who are trying to lose weight. Few people would disagree, but there are also few who truly understand why this is so.

Some believe it is because it helps give you a full feeling, reducing the desire to eat as much.

Others might suggest that fumbling with a water bottle gives you something to do with your hands and that it takes your mind off of eating. There’s also truth to that.

While these reasons may have validity, there is also a very basic benefit water provides to the body. The metabolism relies on it.

How does water factor in?

Well, it’s like this..the liver is the internal organ that metabolizes fat. It takes the stored fat (that fat which you want to get rid of) and it turns it into energy.

It has other functions too. One is assisting the kidneys. If the kidneys are not functioning optimally then, the liver helps out. But then the liver isn’t able to complete it’s other job of metabolizing fat.

Water is required in order for the kidneys to perform. If the body determines enough water has not been taken in – it will start to store water. And not necessarily in places we would like.

The body’s need to store water can be curtailed by consuming water consistently.

For most of us, this means a minimum of eight 8-ounce glasses per day.

But many people do require more – those who are already carrying extra pounds or those who sweat a lot due to exercise or temperature.

The body is very efficient at regging rid of water that is not needed.

People tend to take in less water when dieting, simply because overall less intake of food and drink is normally required.

In eating less, water is also lessened. Food accounts for around 30% of most people’s water intake. Eat less, and you’ll also reduce your water consumption.

So stay mindful of the need for water especially when cutting down on food intake. And you don’t need to wait until you’re parched to drink.

Waiting until you are parched to drink water, means the body has already starting the storage process.

Water actually places key role in my Weight Loss Breeze program. But I use it in totally different way than I’ve seen in any weight loss program before. Try it and you’ll see amazing results.
